Operation "Bucket List"-Walking on water on the Sea of Galilee
A throwback Thursday legacy share
Happy Thursday all and a special greeting to my new “Christian Buddies”. I was fairly sure I shared this video to this share list in the past, but now can’t find my prior post.
Regardless we’ll call this a legacy share. In 2009 I visited Israel on business, but also took side tours to various sites. One of these was to Capernaum. As I stood on the shore near where Jesus asked (or told) Peter to be a “fisher of men”, I looked out at the sea of Galilee and a new bucket list idea emerged. I thought “how cool would it be to come back and walk on water here (barefoot water ski) in the footsteps of Jesus?” (of course Jesus didn’t need the help of the fast boat I had to find!)
Well the Lord blessed me with the time and opportunity to return10 years later and do it! Here’s the video - check it out - especially the sub par equipment, my guide - who spoke some English - and driver - who didn’t- and you can hear my wife Holly keep telling the driver to go faster so I had the speed needed to kick off the ski. It was an amazing experience - a real “God wink”. All glory to God, who by his Grace allows me to have so much fun along the journey. Be sure to enjoy the scripture at the end of the video as well. Jesus performed this miracle right here. My little ride was just plain fun, but a gift from Him to me that day.

Not as exciting as your experience, but I spent a college semester living and studying in Israel back in the 80's. We stayed 2 weeks at a kibbutz on the east side of the Sea of Gallilee and worked in the banana fields. While there I swam where Jesus walk. I also received a call to serve a mission while there.
